Discovering Homeopathy with Nina at Meadows Wellbeing
As part of my journey through Meadows Wellbeing, I’ve been exploring the different therapies on offer - not just to understand them, but to truly experience what they can do.
This time, I met with Nina, a fully qualified Registered Classical Homeopath. I went into this knowing very little about what homeopathy actually is!
What I came away with was something completely different.
A Personal Story That Sparked a Career
Nina’s journey into homeopathy didn’t begin in a classroom, it began with her daughter.
When her baby girl was just 20 months old, she became very unwell. After trying conventional treatment, including antibiotics, things actually worsened. Feeling like she had run out of options, Nina turned to homeopathy as a last resort.
Within 24 hours of receiving a remedy tailored specifically to her daughter’s symptoms, everything changed.
Coming from a science background and a career in the pharmaceutical industry, Nina didn’t just accept it - she wanted to understand it. What followed was years of study, training, and ultimately a complete career shift into homeopathy.
One thing she said really stayed with me:
“It gave me a level of empowerment I’d never felt before. Suddenly, I was able to help my family and their health.”
So… What Is Homeopathy?
Like many people, I assumed homeopathy was something to do with plants. But it’s actually far more complex.
Nina explained that homeopathy is an energy-based medicine - working more with physics than chemistry. Remedies are created through a precise process of dilution and movement, developed over years of research and clinical use. Rather than treating a condition in isolation, homeopathy looks at the whole person: physical symptoms, emotional wellbeing, lifestyle, history… everything!
And this became very clear when I saw the onboarding process.
A Truly Holistic Approach
Out of all the treatments I’ve experienced so far, Nina’s initial consultation was by far the most detailed.
It goes far beyond symptoms. You’re asked about:
Medical history
Family health
Past experiences and accidents
Emotional wellbeing
Lifestyle and habits
Diet
At first, it feels surprising just how in-depth it is - but it really does make complete sense. To find the right remedy, Nina needs to understand you as a whole person, not just the issue you’ve come in with. It’s personalised in a way that most modern healthcare simply isn’t.
Real Results That Speak for Themselves
Nina has a particular passion for women’s health, supporting issues such as painful periods, anxiety and peri/menopause symptoms.
In fact, she shared her own experience - after suffering from debilitating period pain following her second child, she turned to homeopathy and has never experienced that pain again.
From helping children regain confidence and health, to supporting emotional wellbeing, to even cases where women have conceived after years of trying - Nina’s client results are incredibly powerful.
One recent story she shared was a client who fell pregnant the very month she began treatment with Nina. Seeing the genuine joy it brought her said everything about why she does what she does. Click here to see the other success stories!
A Community Behind the Practice
Something I hadn’t expected was just how connected the homeopathy world is.
Nina is a member of the Society of Homeopaths, the largest professional body for homeopaths in the UK. But beyond that, there’s a global network of practitioners constantly sharing knowledge, research and remedies.
During times like the COVID-19 pandemic, homeopaths were actively collaborating - working together to find ways to support their clients through uncertainty and illness and sharing their findings and remedies with each other.
In a world that can sometimes feel disconnected, selfish and a little scary at times… it was genuinely reassuring to hear about a strong community coming together and so focused on helping others.
What Can Homeopathy Help With?
Homeopathy is often used to support a wide range of chronic and non-emergency conditions, including:
Anxiety and stress
Hormonal imbalances
Digestive issues
Skin conditions like eczema
Allergies and asthma
Children’s health and immunity
Women's health
Men's health
It’s also important to note that homeopathy is not a replacement for emergency medical care, and for serious conditions, you should always consult your GP.
My Honest Reflection
This meeting really made me stop and think.
About my own health.
About how I deal with things.
And about how often we jump straight to a “one-size-fits-all” solution.
Nina’s approach is completely different. It’s more considered, and deeply personal. And it made me question something…What if, instead of waiting until something becomes a last resort, we explored a more individualised, holistic approach first?
Final Thoughts
Nina hasn’t taken her family to the doctors since her daughter was 20 months old. And whether you fully understand homeopathy or not, that says something!
This experience opened my eyes to a different way of thinking about health. One that focuses on the individual, not just the condition. So, if you’ve been struggling with something (physically or emotionally) and feel like you’re not getting the answers you need…
Maybe it’s time to try something different.
